Our Mission
Friends of Meadowlark is a nonprofit organization based in Inglewood, California. Our mission is to ensure equal access to high quality early childhood education for all young children regardless of economic circumstances by providing tuition assistance, educational programs, classroom resources, family engagement programs, and community initiatives for the children and families of Meadowlark Community Preschool and the Inglewood community.

Our Story
Friends of Meadowlark is powered by the belief that a high quality early childcare and preschool experience can change the trajectory of a child’s life. At a time when quality childcare is beyond the financial reach of many families, we provide tuition support and offer programs and resources that raise the quality of the childcare options offered to the community of Inglewood, California.
Research indicates that children who receive consistent, high-quality early care show better early academic outcomes and social-emotional wellbeing than peers who didn’t. Effects persist into high school and beyond with young people going on to earn approximately 25% more over their lifetimes than peers who lacked that same early foundation.
